Well, well, well. It has been months — MONTHS — since I could figure out how to get back into this, and lo and behold, I finally did it. My husband tells me my brain works better after 2 AM, and for once, I am not going to dispute that.
At the risk of being too Salesy, I’m going to put here the shop updates I’d been writing on the front page of AlishaGoesAround.com. More housekeeping than anything, and from now on I can Actually Post To The Blog, instead of only regaling Fredizens (holla!) with tales of a killer Aoudad Sheep, dealing yarn in parking lots, and LYS owners gone rabid.

HUGE shop update today, including new yarns! You can find Silky Singles, Silky Merino Sport, Yummy Singles (a fantastic, soft alpaca/silk/superwash merino blend), Covet (cashmere and silk!), Plush Lace, Super Lace, and Silky Bamboo Sport. Also up: an updated array of fiber options in Superwash Merino and Seacell blend, as well as 50/50 Merino/Tencel. And then we’re headed to Austin! December 9, 2009 We’re busy getting ready for the Hill Country Weavers’ Fiber Friends Festival this weekend, December 12 and 13th. EVERYTHING on the website and MORE that I’ve not yet listed will be at Hill Country Weavers in Austin, Texas, this weekend. In the meantime, I am working on adding new items to the shop, including Silken Camel, Covet, Super Lace, Yummy Singles, Silky Merino Singles, Silky Merino Sport, and probably more. I’ve done everything so far except for the photographs, so if you want to learn more about these new offerings, you can look under the YARN tab. Photos will be added as soon as possible, hopefully today (if the weather cooperates). In other news, my son is going under the knife AGAIN this Friday. With the surgery and the festival, orders placed during the weekend may be delayed a few days before shipping. I’ll have my iphone so I’ll be able to pull things from the shelves as they sell.

Kid n Ewe has come and gone, Christmas in Comfort is around the corner, and I’ve been sidelined from knitting after too much lifting and twisting. Hello, immobilization of right hand and wrist, how ya doin? But the fun doesn’t stop around here. I’ve got plenty of stock hitting the Yarn pages over the next week. Fiber is VERY LOW right now, but another box of fluff should arrive any time between tomorrow and eternity. Thank you to all our customers for your support. My husband is shocked at how often I’ve had to replenish yarn and fiber — I think he’s learning not to underestimate knitters.

Over the weekend, AGA was picked up by TWO MORE LYS. Our thanks go to Rosewood Yarns of Boerne, Texas, and The Shabby Sheep of Dallas, Texas (yarns incoming in three weeks or so). We’ve almost recovered from the Best Little Yarn Crawl in Texas, and the shop is updated! We’ve listed FIBER (finally!), Plush Sock (Cashmere blend sock yarn), and Spark Sock (Woohoo for silk and real, actual silver that is soft and not scratchy!) The Yarn Crawl was amazing! I had such a good time at the Yarn Barn of San Antonio meeting people on the crawl. I came home exhausted and happy. I have also updated the shop with yarn and fiber for the October Phat Fiber Sampler Box. If you’re looking for “Oh, Donna!” click on the Phat Fiber button at the left. These colorways are available until the November box hits, and if demand exceeds on-hand supply, I will happily dye more yarn or fiber, no worries. Hopefully I made the Phat Fiber section easy enough to understand and navigate. I will try to check in over the weekend. We have guests in town from Minnesota and I have a meeting at a LYS regarding my yarn line (more proof that the yarn is good, even if the pictures stink), so cheers! Have a wonderful day!

Alisha Goes Around is getting ready for The Best Little Yarn Crawl in Texas! All our yarn and fiber will be at The Yarn Barn of San Antonio, Texas from October 8 to October 13th. Alisha will be at The Yarn Barn during the afternoon on Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th. The shop will be updated with stock beginning October 13th and 14th, including Plush Sock, Stout Sock,Spark Sock, handspun yarn, and spinning fiber.
Thank you very much to all my customers and friends for making this last month so much fun. We had a wonderful time at our trunk show at the Tinsmith’s Wife in Comfort, Texas.
